"Is My Cat A Narcissist? An Illustrated Guide to Bad Behaviors," is available on Amazon. I also have copies here at home. This is a fun, illustrated book which addresses some naughty behaviors in cats. Oh, and these behaviors can happen in humans, too!

These behaviors are not as cute in humans. Of course a human personality disorder cannot be attributed to a pet cat, but I say, why not have fun with the idea?
“Is My Cat A Narcissist” explores commonly discussed narcissistic behavioral traits. Whiskers, Ferdinand, Pickles and more help illustrate these naughty behaviors. It includes gas-lighting, love-bombing, the cycle of bread-crumbing, flying monkeys, rages, and more!
Be forewarned, once you see narcissistic traits in action, you can’t un-see them! This is not a diagnostic tool for kitties or humans. This book is for entertainment only.
ON A SERIOUS NOTE:
------------- Thanks for checking here. This book is light-hearted, playfully written and illustrated by me and so it's a lot of fun. But narcissism is a very serious subject. For vocabulary and concepts, I referenced Dr. Ramani Durvasula who is a renowned expert and teacher on the subject of NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). Click here for her You Tube channel, where you can find out more. Click here for Dr. Ramani's TED talk on Narcissism, which puts the word Narcissism into perspective in our society. I watched many of her you tubes and used the vocabulary I found in them (gaslighting, breadcrumbing, rages, etc) in "Is My Cat A Narcissist."
It is important to separate NPD (a clinical diagnosis) from recognizing Narcissistic traits. NPD is in the cluster B personality disorder section of the DSM-V. Click here to check out an excerpt from the DSM-V. The DSM_V is a diagnostic tool used by those licensed to diagnose.
If you are unfamiliar with NPD, it's really a fascinating subject, particularly in this day and age. Click here for some info on the clinical aspects for diagnosis. The studying up on narcissism is relevant in our times, where external validation is so deeply defining to many people, incivility is often broadly accepted, as is lack of empathy. Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a clinical diagnosis for humans, and can be a very serious problem. It is difficult to treat, and can result in unhappiness in both the person who has it and those around them.
DISCLAIMER and a friendly reminder: Only licensed professionals may make a clinical diagnosis, and many of us have at times exhibited some of the traits of Narcissism during our lifetimes. This book is not a diagnostic tool.
